Welcome to the Mary History and Genealogy Project
Hi and welcome to the Maryland History and Genealogy Project! We're so glad you stopped by. Our goal is to be an entrance point for your research of your ancestors in Maryland. We are a part of the American History and Genealogy Project and the American Local History Network. We encourage you to check out our "family" of county websites. We're seeking to provide the best resources to you. If you should have any questions in the area of your research, please contact the County Coordinator directly. If you should have a specific question about The Maryland History and Genealogy Project, please feel free to contact us.

County Pages Biographic and Historical Book Repository
You will want to begin your search by exploring the County Websites. You may discover that one of the counties is in need of a coordinator. If you are interested in adopting one of the counties, please send us an e-mail message.
Each of the counties maintains a system for submitting queries. In many cases you might not know which county your ancestor was from. Please utilize our General Maryland Query Board only if you do not know the county of origin for your ancestors.
The Maryland History and Genealogy Project is in need of volunteers to host county pages, query boards, provide look-up resources, transcribe data, etc... If you might be interested in volunteering, please contact either Denise or Nathan.
